FAMILY DAY RIDE COMING UP

Our Family Day Ride from River Valley to Pine Falls Lodge will be held on Sunday August 14, 2011 : each member will receive free meal tickets for himself and another member of his immediate family for a great meal.Guests are welcome but will have to pay for their meal. We expect to surpass last year's total of 55 riders. By the way the last ride to Silver Lake was a success with 18 ATV and 23 riders participating on a nice sunny day: 3 lakes were visited, one creek crossing, and blueberry pie at Emerald Lake Lodge to sweeten the deal.

NEXT RIDE: SILVER LAKE

Our 8th ride is this coming Saturday, July 23, leaving a parking area on Hwy 805 , 15 km north of Glen Afton (Cowboy Labelle) at 9:30 am. This ride has everything: volcanic rock, lots of lakes, mostly good trails. By the way, last week's ride at Rabbit Lake saw 40 ATV and 53 riders on a hot day , visiting the Earth Dam, Rabbit Chutes, the Matabitchuan River, a rock bridge and finally a fish fry upon returning to the vehicles. So get off your couch and join us.

POWASSAN RIDE

What a beautiful day it turned out to be for our 6th ride of the season to the Powassan/Boulter area as 30 riders enjoyed some scenic stops at 5 lakes and 3 lookouts. Along the way, we stopped for two ladies on horseback who allowed us photos to be taken of them and their horses. When we got to the Blue Sea area of Boulter Township, a couple of riders decided to have fun and test their machines in the mud off trail and had to be winched out ! We visited two new lookouts in Boulter and the view was amazing ! On the return trip, we visited the lookout in Powassan, where, besides enjoying the view, blueberries were picked and eaten. All in all, a fun day, with good socializing and lots of photo opportunities !

RABBIT LAKE RIDE

Our club's seventh ride will be held next Saturday July 16, starting at 9:30 am from the parking area near the southwest access to Rabbit Lake, visiting a scenic earth dam at the southeast access to Rabbit L, then the gorgeous Rabbit Chutes, an idyllic area near the Matagitchuan River, crossing a rock bridge, then returning to the parking area for a Fish Fry at $20 for all you can eat. Bring a rod if you like fishing: there are many lakes along the way and ample time to fish !
