WNATV Ride # 6: Powassan/Boulter (Saturday,
July 9th, 2011)

The West Nipissing ATV Club's 6th ride of the season was held on Juy 9th, 2011 around the Powassan/Boulter
area and
began under sunny skies with about 25
riders arriving at parking lot next to Kudos Restaurant at the south end of Powassan.
Our first stop was at Wasi Lake, where, along the way, we were met by two ladies
on horseback, who allowed photos to be
taken of
them and their horses. After a brief stop at Wasi Lake, we proceeded to the second parking area to welcome about
5 more riders on two-up machines and side by sides at the field off the end of
Memorial Drive. We then proceeded to the
Blue
Sea area of Boulter Township, where a few people had fun in the mud with their machines, and, of course, some had
to be winched out! Lunch stop was in the shade at picturesque Loon Lake,
then stop afterwards to view the scenery at
Pascal,
Guillemette and Little Clear Lakes. We visited two lookouts in Boulter, which some riders had never seen before,
and were amazed by the views. On the return trip we visited the lookout
in Powassan, where, besides enjoying the view,
a
few enjoyed picking and eating blueberries. We returned to the parking lot and a group of riders enjoyed cooling off,
having dinner and further socializing at Kudos
Restaurant. All in all, a good ride, with lots of photo opportunities!
