Saturday evening our club had its first night ride. Surprisingly,
for a long weekend, it ended up that we had 25 bikes with
27 riders in all. The evening was a very warm 27 degrees so the ride from Sturgeon Falls to Field via Clear Lake road was very refreshing. It was quite a site to see with a long line of lights following
each other. Thanks Barry for leading this part
of the ride. From Field, Larry Brandridge led us the 3 km. to Camp Horizon through a trail that was quite challenging. Camp Horizon treated us like gold with hamburgers, pop and a
campfire over-looking the lake. This was exceptional since the fire was from a propane stove because of the fire
ban that was in effect. Also there were virtually
no flies. Fun, gossip and laughter were the rule of the night. We retraced our steps and got back to Sturgeon Falls by 11:45pm. This has to be repeated next year.
