April 17th 2009 Scouting the trail for the April 18th 2009 Ride

Four of us went out to scout the trail for April 18th 2009 Ride. It was a beautiful sunny day, we started out in River Valley, we proceeded to the first part of

the trail and we encountered LOTS of snow, so we turned around. We then went on the Abandoned railway to see if we could at least go around Murray Lake. In the abandoned Railway there was a lot of snow but driveable. We decided to go have Lunch at the Pine Falls Lodge.

After a good lunch we went to trails and again there was too much snow, the Mule got stuck, it took 2 ATVs to get him out. We tried a couple of different trails but as soon as you get off the roads there was too much snow.

Here are photographs of the first outing of one of our new members, Steve Cerisano, last Sunday May 10^th 2009.

We went to Turtle Shell, the lake Temagami and Gull Lake. There were many fallen trees which we had to saw.

West Nipissing ATV Club Spring Ride, Ride Leader Claude Patenaude.

Sunday morning we met up at the school in River Valley. After a group Photo we headed out on our trip.

We were 21 ATVs and 23 riders. Everyone had a safe, fun time and looking forward to June’s Ride.

June 13th 2009 King Run

"Drove to the end of the road along Tomiko Lake near Bridge to let off 15 ATV at 10am.Nice slow ride, rough with moderate mudholes near Mosquito Creek,

good creek crossing, smooth in loop. Had lunch in an open area near hunt camp, completed loop in pole line, back at trucks at 4pm.

Length 44.7 km, time moving 3hr 47 min. Kudos to our leader, Barry!"

June 28th 2009 "Gull Lake & Turtleshell Lake"

Led By: Claude Patenaude

We left at 9:30 am from the Blue Demon Camp, the weather was cloudy but nice. We went North over Manitoulin Lake, over to Turtleshell Lake, stopped a couple of times to site see.

Proceeded North East to Gull Lake stopped at a nice bay for a quick break, the followed along Gull Lake. At 11:30 am we arrived at the Gull Lake Beach where we stopeed for lunch, and also when the rain started.

We all put our rain suites on, at least those of us who had one.

Continued Nort West to Rachel Lake, and by that time it was pouring. We decided that it was raining too much headed back to trucks. It was noce ride while it lasted...

We did 43 Kms and we were back at the trucks by 1:30pm.
